It's time for Christmas again!

Yeah... It's 24th of December again! It's a day to celebrate, because God give us the most precious gift-His only son Jesus to us 2000 years ago.

This year, we celebrate this festive season with USM students as well on the Christmas Eve. Around 40 people turned up to join us... Praise God for that!

Pictures speak better than words. Here are the proves of fun, food and fellowship we have that day!

Touching Story~

A minister passing through his church in the middle of the day,
Decided to pause by the altar and see who had come to pray.
Just then the back door opened, a man came down the aisle,
The minister frowned as he saw the man hadn't shaved in a while.
His shirt was kind a shabby and his coat was worn and frayed,
the man knelt, he bowed his head, Then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed, each noon time came this chap,
each time he knelt just for a moment, A lunch pail in his lap.
Well, the minister's suspicions grew, with robbery a main fear,
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
"What are you doing here?"
The old man said, he worked down the road.
Lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
For finding strength and power.

"I stay only moments, see,
because the factory is so far away;
as I kneel here talking to the Lord,
This is what I say:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY,
BUT I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS JIM
CHECKING IN TODAY."

The minister feeling foolish, told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man he was welcome To come and pray just anytime.
Time to go, Jim smiled, said "Thanks."
He hurried to the door.

The minister knelt at the altar,
he'd never done it before.
His cold heart melted, warmed with love, and met with Jesus there.

As the tears flowed, in his heart,
he repeated old Jim's prayer:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, LORD,
HOW HAPPY I'VE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND EACH OTHER'S FRIENDSHIP
AND YOU TOOK AWAY MY SIN.
I DON'T KNOW MUCH OF HOW TO PRAY, BUT
I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERYDAY.
SO, JESUS, THIS IS ME CHECKING IN TODAY."

Past noon one day, the minister noticed
that old Jim hadn't come.
As more days passed without Jim, he began to worry some.
At the factory, he asked about him, learning he was ill.

The hospital staff was worried, But he'd given them a thrill.
The week that Jim was with them, Brought changes in the ward.

His smiles, a joy contagious.
Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn't understand
why Jim was so glad, when no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse's concern:

No friends came to show they cared
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke up and with a winsome smile;

"the nurse is wrong, she couldn't know,
that in here all the while everyday at noon He's here,
a dear friend of mine, you see,
He sits right down, takes my hand,
Leans over and says to me:

"I JUST CAME AGAIN TO TELL YOU, JIM,
HOW HAPPY I HAVE BEEN,
SINCE WE FOUND THIS FRIENDSHIP,
AND I TOOK AWAY YOUR SIN.
ALWAYS LOVE TO HEAR YOU PRAY,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EACH DAY,
AND SO JIM, THIS IS JESUS
CHECKING IN TODAY."

Many people will walk in and out of your life,
but only true friends will leave
footprints in your heart.
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
and Angels watch over you.

But for those of us who are already His, He not
only holds us in the palm of His hand, but has
engraved our names there, and we are continually
in His sight (Isaiah 49:16)

Please pass this page on to your friends & loved ones.

If you aren't ashamed.

Jesus said, " If you are ashamed of me," I will be ashamed of you before my Father."
If you are not ashamed, pass this on . But only if you mean it.

God is my source of existence and Savior.
He keeps me functioning each and everyday. Without Him, I
will be nothing. Without him, I am nothing but with Him "I can
do all things through Christ that strengthens me." Phil 4:13

Mooncake Festival 2008!

Homely moon! This is our theme for this year mooncake festival. On 13 of September, which is day number 14 of eighth month according to lunar calendar, we have had our homely celebration at esplanade. On the evening that day, there was quite some heavy rain. So we have been very busy in switching our ground from here to there and there to another there. But praise God! When it reached 7pm, the rain has been lightening, and we are able to enjoy some comfortable sea breeze and warm welcome from each other. After some songs and games, we have our food prepared well. Here is the picture of our excellent mooncake.

We then have our interesting treasure hunt. The questions have been quite tough, but surprisingly only Joseph and team fail to answer correctly. So they were asked to dance as punishment. Mr Gan, their creative director, thought of a dance that none of us has thought before. In Chinese, dance is called ‘tiao wu’. And its sound is the same as ‘jump five’ if we use word by word translation. So they just jump, then show their five fingers. Funny? That’s the funny stuff we enjoy as youth! Everyone, hope to see you guys soon!

Amazing Discovery 2008!!!

On 31st of May, our long awaited Amazing Discovery was held at Botanical Garden! Before the day, all of us are working the best we can to finalize everything, but the works seem to be a little too hard for us as we have limited time to prepare since most of us just back from Kampar on Thursday and we have limited man power as well. To make things worse, there are several late withdrawals that cause us to make late restructuring on groups and also game masters. Anyway, all of us always try our best to make everything back on track. So we really appreciate every helpers and facilitators of the event.

On that day, we all try to get there as early as we can. But when we reach there, we have already one group there! We are so surprised! Ye Sheng, Chee Soon, Andy and mates, we are really impressed by your punctuality of time! So we just quickly prepared ourselves on the registration table. Soon, most of the participants come, so we just start off with some warm-up games while game masters have late briefing. It’s truly glad to see all the participants enjoy the games and have smile on their face. When the real games start, it’s so exciting to see all the participants have full enthusiasm to finish the game as champions. Everyone is running as they are in 100 meter sprint. Great atmosphere, great competition!

Aha! Then some technical problems arise. We are so sorry about that. But it’s still an enjoyable game. It’s so impressive to see how well the participants perform, because they finish the race much faster than we can ever imagine! The team consists of Wuey Sheng, Ronald, Edmund and Khing Wei with Jonathan as facilitator has some close fight with Phoey San’s team which is made of Su Lin, Wen Yee, Chee Yi, Bei Xian. It’s a tough call, but the guys win it after all. But credit need to be given to the girls as well as they actually have equal strength as the guys. Then came the nearest third placed team with Linda and her students. It’s a pity to see them just missing out the top two spot, but we very much appreciate their sweet spirit. Do not forget also our unlucky Chung Ling team with Ng Shin and mates just finished outside top 3.

After all it’s great to have this event as we are able to make new friends and enjoy games together. After the games we are having our lunch at one of the nearby coffee shop as we enjoy chatting together. Nice to see all the youngsters here and we hope to see everyone soon. Don’t forget that we have the celebration party of Amazing Discovery soon. Details will be announced here soon.

Here are some interesting photos about the event:
